Moderated by Becky Anderson, Managing Editor of CNN Abu Dhabi and host of Connect the World with Becky Anderson, the discussion highlighted how AI could contribute to solving global issues like disease eradication, climate change, and food security. Anderson also guided the audience through practical lessons in moderating conversations with high-profile figures, emphasizing preparation and research as essential tools for effective dialogue. Mohamed Dobay, Acting Director-General of CMA, underscored the significance of such initiatives. “Our commitment to nurturing young talent in Abu Dhabi’s creative industries continues to grow. Engaging with visionaries like Bill Gates exemplifies this dedication and demonstrates our focus on providing unparalleled learning opportunities for our youth,” he said.

Student participant Reem Al Mazrouei expressed her gratitude for the experience, describing it as transformative. “This opportunity to interact with Bill Gates and Becky Anderson was invaluable,” she said. “The masterclass not only deepened my understanding of technology and media but also highlighted the importance of preparation in conducting impactful interviews.”

Gates emphasized his philosophy of catalytic philanthropy, which prioritizes investments in innovative solutions to improve lives, particularly in underserved communities.

The program includes interactive workshops, masterclasses, and digital tutorials, offering a practical foundation in journalistic ethics, verification, and storytelling. This event reflects Abu Dhabi’s vision to position itself as a hub for media excellence while fostering talent capable of addressing the complex challenges of a rapidly evolving world.
